Cool Beanz has opened a few new locations recently! Cool Beanz was opened in 2009 by owner Annette Hutto. While she attended her final years at Augustana College in Rock Island, she had worked with vendors, builders, and the city of Rock Island to develop a business plan into a reality. The location, near Augustana was open from August of 2009 to April of 2021, serving gourmet coffee to customers and community, building relationships and meeting friends.

During this time, Cool Beanz purchased their food truck, which operates at the Davenport Freighthouse Farmers Market through the Spring, Summer, and Fall. At the onset of the covid pandemic, Cool Beanz worked to stay open by moving items to curbside, adjusting their hours and menu, and thinking out of the box by finding a local location to start their first drive thru- Located in the parking lot of the Bent River Rock Island at 512 24th Street.

This relationship opened doors to the greater use of part of the Bent River space, and Cool Beanz moved their flagship location from up the hill, to share the Bent River location in April of 2021. Cool Beanz now operates the inside 1300 square feet location next to Bent River that includes cozy seating and a fire place. They also continued to operate the drive thru in the parking lot at this location, and the food truck at the markets. Most recently Cool Beanz opened a location inside of Scott Community College Urban Campus downtown Davenport. Cool Beanz is looking forward to continuing to build and grow business in all of these new locations!
